Tan Yu Win
Vice President of Project Management & Support
Yu Win is a Vice President of Project Management & Support (PMS) who joined Securemetric in 2014. As a leader of the company and a Project Manager himself, he believes that leadership takes place at all levels. His role as a Project Manager requires him to ensure that projects are completed successfully by planning, coordinating, executing and finalizing the projects according to the set deadlines and budget. This is an essential part of the role to assemble and lead the project team in order to fulfil customer’s satisfaction.
Working as a Project Manager at Securemetric.
Working in Securemetric PMS department is very different from typical project management departs in other organisations. The “S” in PMS stands for Support which means that Project Managers are expected to be hands-on and assist in pre-sales and post-sales support. This is actually a good thing in my opinion because it makes our Project Managers more knowledgeable in the technology and products we sell, which in turns improves the projects that they manage.
What are the key characteristics of a qualified Project Manager?
A Project Manager in the PMS department needs to be a leader. He/she needs to take interest in the well-being of the project team and have a passion for delivering projects. Customers’ KPIs as our priority.
What is the responsibility of a Project Manager in delivery services?
Securemetric emphasizes customer satisfaction as a key success factor. While executing projects or supporting customers, Securemetric more readily accommodates the customer’s requests compared to our competitors. However, this does not mean we give-in to everything the customer asks. The trick is in balancing the just right amount of give-and-take coupled with the right communication strategy to maintain good satisfaction levels without jumping-off a cliff or breaking the bank. Training is provided to help you to succeed as a Project Manager at Securemetric, most of the PMS mem
As a leader of PMS, what kind of candidates will you consider for this role?
Potential Project Managers must show leadership qualities. They must be able to lead their assigned projects. They must also be hands-on and be able to fill gaps when necessary therefore the candidates must not be afraid of technology and must be a quick learner and adaptive to change. Candidates who want to do “air traffic control” style project management or only interested in the coordination aspect of Project Management needs not apply.

Manager – Software Development
Handra, Manager leading the PKI software development team believes in teamwork, being leader having the ability to drive the members to actualize their dreams in the things that they do.
What does leadership mean to you being a leader at Securemetric?
Securemetric provides resources to help develop better leadership skills through leadership and management training that has been conducted along the year. My role is to lead a PKI development team to deliver what we should deliver (i.e.: PKI related software). This involves peoples’ skill development through knowledge-sharing and support the members when they face issues, especially during the pandemic, when we are not able to see each others face to face. But, we are in an IT company, all employees have the flexibility to work remotely and collaborate well through the internet.
What do you consider as the most appealing aspect working with Securemetric?
I think global mobility is quite a good opportunity provided by the Company to most employees from the Technology division, as most of our projects are from the SEA. This is especially true for the new joiners to be put in international assignments and experience on working with people from different cultures and nationalities.
Andrew Cheng
Cheng Chun Seong, Andrew
Software Engineer (PKI)
Andrew is a Software Engineer from PKI team who joined Securemetric as a trainee and was confirmed due to outstanding internship performance. Andrew is passionate in solving-problems and providing workable solutions in the areas of software development, project deployment and technical support to both internal and external clients.
Working as a Software Engineer at Securemetric?
As a Software Engineer in the PKI Team, my role currently is to handle PKI research & developments, integrations, customisations and deployments of but not limited to PKI-related products such as PKI Appliance, PKI Software Appliance and PKI Hardware Security Module (HSM). Apart from that, handling PKI projects as a main project engineer is also part of my role. The tasks of a project main engineer pretty much start from the project preparation phase, whereby clients require technical PKI advice and recommendations to shape their entire PKI structure, to the final phase before the PKI system goes live. Other than that, I also provide in-depth PKI technical support to existing clients. Despite only a few years of experiences to start off my career as a Software Engineer with Securemetric, I am happy to be involved in the whole product lifecycle including overseeing the deployment at the client’s site.
Can you share about your working experience in the PKI Software Development team?
“Teamwork makes the dream work”, can never go wrong when it comes to team-based accomplishments. Especially when my team members each handles and has more knowledge in different specific PKI components, I’m constantly required to work closely with one and another so that I’m able to integrate components by components, which then forms a final whole PKI product. PKI projects handling is also a challenging one. I experienced handling PKI projects both locally and in neighboring countries where the process can be simplified into few phases like preparation, pre-deployment, deployment, key ceremony, and post-key ceremony. During these phases, every minor detail matter and as the main engineer, all must be handled properly. Not forgetting, I didn’t just deal with servers and systems but also various levels of clients.
How have you been improving your skills and knowledge in your role as a Software Engineer?
I have had joined various trainings provided by internal, external and partner trainers. All trainings were related to existing and new products from Securemetric. As technology develops, one can’t simply avoid from continuous knowledge learning. Self-exploration, self-thought and on-work experiences would be my best teacher. Knowledge-Sharing as being one of the core values of Securemetric, we offer wide ranges of training and development opportunities to enhance learning.
