Follow the following steps to see if a Smartcard is readable (assuming the Smartcard reader fails to read a Smartcard even though the device is detected and the status light is correct):
- Insert Smartcard into Reader.
- Open cmd (Command Prompt)
- Enter the command “certutil -scinfo”
- If the smartcard is working (readable), the ATR value of the card will be shown. Otherwise, an error will be displayed instead.
